Preface to the new edition. The present volume is a revised and expanded edition of The Secret King: Karl Maria Wiligut, Himmler’s Lord of the Runes which was jointly published in 2001 by two small presses, Dominion and Rûna-Raven, in both a limited (and now much-sought-after) hardcover edition as well as a trade paperback edition. With no advertising and no publicity to speak of, the book sold in the thousands. This is a testament to the ever increasing interest in a topic that has too often been dealt with in the most irresponsible and unscholarly ways. When the time was due for another reprinting of the original book, we decided that it would be preferable to revise and expand it. Although this new edition is being issued simply as a co-authored work, each of us took on certain duties that were in keeping with our strengths and experience. Therefore, much of the credit for translation goes to Stephen Flowers and much of the credit for editing to Michael Moynihan. We feel the results are demonstrably superior to what any exclusively individual effort might have been, had either of us chosen to go it alone. We would also like to acknowledge the contributions of researcher Manfred Lenz, who conducted a fascinating interview by correspondence with Gabriele Dechend, Wiligut’s former secretary, and Annabel Lee, who faithfully translated this into English. Joshua Buckley was kind enough to read over the new material for this edition and offer helpful suggestions. We have also corrected a number of minor errata from the earlier edition. For all the notoriety of the early twentieth-century German Ariosophy movement as an “occult” predecessor to National Socialism, only one major literary work from the genre has ever been made widely available to English-speaking readers. This is Guido von List’s The Secret of the Runes, which also has been translated and introduced by Dr. Flowers. ...
Flowers Stephen Edred - Original magicurn:md5:320fc1b79384f4a434fd2c1bab845f462018-01-22T02:27:00+00:002018-04-14T19:47:46+01:00balderFlowers Stephen EdredAmericaBolchevikCommunismConspiracyEugenicsEuropeGermanyJewMagicMusicPersiaRacialismSeconde guerre mondialeThird ReichUnited States

Preface. The word magic ultimately derives from the Indo-European root underlying the Iranian term magû, which denoted a priestly class of men schooled in (and initiated into) the arts and sciences of forging a salutary link between the supernal realm and the terrestrial world of events and phenomena. They were so skilled and famed for their effectiveness that the practices they engaged in came to mean what we today call “magic.” Unfortunately, much of their wisdom, for which they were also renowned, was lost along the way, at least as far as Western practitioners of magic were concerned. The original form of magic was aimed at individual self-development (initiation) and the application of the art and science of their particular craft toward the overall betterment of the world and of other individuals in the world. The ultimate aim of magic was individual and collective happiness (Av. ushta). In the hands of the unwise, magic quickly devolves into sorcery—the unsystematic application of similar techniques for the alleviation of temporary emergency situations. Mazdans, both ancient and modern, both Eastern and Western, deplore sorcery yet practice the most exalted form of magic. As I have noted, the very word magic is derived from their tradition. For the ancient Iranians, who belonged to the Indo-European family of cultures, there was little distinction between magic and religion. Theirs was a magical religion, and it remains so today. These ancient traditions are still very much kept alive among modernday Zoroastrians. Once the world’s single most influential religious community, orthodox Zoroastrians now number fewer than 300,000 people scattered all over the world. There are, however, signs that the religion is making a comeback throughout the world. But this is not a book about the religion of Zoroastrianism. It is a book of magic and magical initiation to be used by individuals of various backgrounds. Readers who are interested in an outline of the religious system of the Mazdan way tailored for Westerners should consult my book The Good Religion (Lodestar, 2014). Knowledge of the history and cultural values of the original magicians enhances the student’s understanding of the workings of the art and science of magic. It is for this reason that the study of this ancient culture and mythology is highly recommended. It is my personal hope that those who undertake this system of magical work will be so impressed with the effectiveness of the system that they will expand their interests to the larger Mazdan way. In any event, by making use of this system all individuals will be made better and brought closer to the moment when genuine happiness will be theirs. ...
Flowers Stephen Edred - Toward an archaic germanic psychologyurn:md5:dff84dcac273132a55fd61e17c01d1cd2015-01-27T00:51:00+00:002015-01-27T00:54:37+00:00balderFlowers Stephen EdredAllemagneAmériquesFranceGermanyHébraïsmeSeconde guerre mondiale

Contexts. Any attempt to determine the nature of the psychological conceptions held by the ancient Germanic peoples and to formulate a structure in which these conceptions might have functioned is beset with a variety of difficulties due to the disparate nature of the textural evidence and general discontinuity of the pre-Christian contexts for the lexical items involved. ...
Flowers Stephen Edred - Red Rûnaurn:md5:960e68209d5f1bb6fe063cf1278c8c6f2015-01-09T23:43:00+00:002015-01-09T23:45:48+00:00balderFlowers Stephen EdredCayenneFranceGuyaneRunesTrinidad

Introduction. Many of the contributions to this volume were originally written for publications within the Temple of Set. There was generally no rhyme or reason as to the subject matter, they mostly represent things which might have caught my fancy as I was doing research on other projects. Each of the contributions has in many ways been edited for a more general readership, corrections have been made, and in many cases the article has been expanded and substantially revised. The article entitled “Offshoots and Parallels of the Lords of the Left-Hand Path” was originally written as the eleventh and final chapter of the book Lords of the Left- Hand Path. (Rûna-Raven, 1997). This chapter was not used in the final version of the book because it seemed that there was a “disparity of magnitude” between the groups and philosophies discussed in the other ten chapters and the ones analyzed in this final chapter. However, there are some interesting ideas contained in this material, which will be found of interest. The text has been somewhat revised and updated since that which first appeared in 1993. The impetus which lies behind the perhaps controversial document entitled “Contra Templum” is the continuing trend of my work being discussed in the context of Setian history and philosophy, when it often has little to do with that philosophy. The “sensationalistic factor” of connecting the object of their study to “Devil-Worship” is often too great a temptation to pass up. I realized that if I were not to make a positive statement to the contrary, scholars who were only looking at biographical details might not be to blame for their misapplications of emphasis. It is from this Need that the document arose. Preface. This is a somewhat unusual book. It is partly a translation of a contribution by Guido von List to the study of Freemasonry, partly a personal memoir, partly a call to action, but most of all it is a basic introductory study of a topic that would really require many volumes to treat completely. The topic is that of the Germanic roots of the Masonic tradition. In this study I do not want to suggest that all of Masonic imagery and symbolism, or that the entirety of Masonic ritual, are simply lifted from ancient Germanic customs. Obviously there have been centuries of intentional efforts to make Masonic customs appear to have their origins in the Holy Land and to be linked to Old Testament themes. However, the facts seem to point simply and directly to a more "home grown" well-spring for the most basic and most original levels of these customs and rituals. These facts were well-known over a hundred years ago, and were discussed in some detail in a book by the American Masonic scholar George Fort in his 1884 book Early History and Antiquities of Freemasonry, subtitled As Connected with Ancient Norse Guilds, and the Oriental and Medireval Building Fraternities. Our little book begins with a personal memoir that details my own brush with the Masonic Order and how it ended badly, but predictably. This is followed by the main body of the work consisting of two chapters. The first details the historical aspects of the question while the next delves more into specific themes of myth and ritual which have definite Germanic roots. Appended to this is an article written in 1910 by Guido von List, which touches on the Germanic origin of Masonic symbolism. The book concludes with a call to action for a11 men possessed of the idea of tradition to make the effort to become a Mason and thereby revivify this dying institution. Preface. It has been well over twenty-five years since the publication of Futhark: A Handbook of Rune Magic. Still, this book is not intended to replace or compete with that one-it is intended to go beyond it. This is the first significant advance in the practice of rune-magic to have been published since that time. In fact a world of advancement has been made over the thirty years since the manuscript for Futhark was completed. After Futhark a myriad of books on rune-magic have appeared-most very bad, some mediocre, and some quite good. But none went beyond the basics. This book will break new ground-theoretically and practically-not just go over the same basic materials one more time. This is also a relatively new kind of book of magic - a text often accompanied by footnotes, references, etc., which bridges the gap between academic runology and "practical magic" - or operative communication. Alu is an operative formula which functioned in ancient times as a mode of connecting the realm of the gods to that of humanity. This book is also designed to break through conventional barriers and bring disparate worlds together. ...
Flowers Stephen Edred - Fire & Iceurn:md5:c98b2d93400ac3790cd36c10a3c9a7b12014-12-25T01:04:00+00:002014-12-25T01:04:00+00:00balderFlowers Stephen EdredConspirationFranc-maçonnerieGermanyHébraïsmeMagicR.I.S.S.RitualsSaturn

About the Cover. The Brö stone is an example of a Medieval memorial stone, discussed in Chapter 3. On the surface, its message reads: "Ginnlog, Hölmgel's daughter, sister of Sygröd and of Got, she had this bridge built and raised this stone after Assur her husband, son of Hakon the earl. He was guardian against the Vikings together with Geter. God help now his spirit and soul." As was common with runic memorial stones, it is possible that a deeper occult meaning is encoded into how the runes were actually carved. From a historical perspective, this stone gives us a glimpse of the Swedish coastal defense organization that kept watch against Viking raiders. The Bra stone probably dates to the late 1100's, and is located in Uppsala, the ancient sacred capital of pagan Sweden. ...
Flowers Stephen Edred - Runcaster's handbookurn:md5:0c54df5aae5cadd68b87674ac96ac95c2014-12-25T00:26:00+00:002014-12-25T00:31:26+00:00balderFlowers Stephen EdredChaos MagicMagicMagicRunesShamanism

Introduction. A great tide of reawakening is sweeping the land. The gods and goddesses of our ancestors are stirring once more. Runes are being carved and their names sung again. Is the age of rebirth and reawakening upon us ? Has Hrenir once again begun to read the Runes aright ? This age of reawakening will not just "happen." It must be attended by inner and outer work by us, the descendants of those who lived in a more heroic time. It is therefore necessary for us to become familiar - as quickly as possible - with the basic lore of the Germanic Way. It is to this end that this book has been written. This is a guidebook to the Germanic tradition in that it is designed to plant seeds of knowledge and show the path to further knowledge. It will outline for you who the Germanic people are and what a worker in the Germanic tradition is and can become. Essential to the understanding of who you are is the soul-lore, or "psychology," of the ancestral path. ...
Flowers Stephen Edred - Hermetic magicurn:md5:8a2d69a1696cd7030b344aea2eb681b32014-12-25T00:12:00+00:002014-12-25T00:15:03+00:00balderFlowers Stephen EdredChristianityConspirationEgyptFranc-maçonnerieFranceGreeceHébraïsmeIranJewMagicMithraMoonRituals

Preface. "Quod superius est sicut quod inferius et quod inforius est sicut quod superius ad perpetranda miracula rei unius. That which is above is like that which is below and that which is below is like that which is above, to achieve the wonders of rhe One Thing." These words ring our from the wisdom of Hermes Trismegisros - the Thrice-Greatest, as recorded in the Tabula Smaragdina, or Emerald Tablet. As it was, so it might also be, applied to the Hermetic laws as far as the working of true Hermetic magical formulas is concerned. The Hermetic tradition of magic is one of the most often invoked of the so-called Western schools of magic. Its technical formulas have been well documented for nearly a hundred years. But even now they remain only barely known to the community of modern magicians - or theurgists - who would make use of them. ...
Flowers Stephen Edred - The mysteries of the Gothsurn:md5:450b594f6dcb3cbd6711d184daadb17f2014-12-25T00:00:00+00:002014-12-25T00:41:33+00:00balderFlowers Stephen EdredCeltesChaos MagicEuropeMagicMagicMythologyReligionRitualsShamanism

Preface. This book has had a mysterious fate. It was conceived in the summer of 1977, when I formally studied the Gothic language at the university, it was further developed in the 1980s as new material was gathered on my researches in Europe and finally outlined in the early 1990s. By the dawn of the new millennium, I felt I could bequeath this valuable and precious project to a trusted student and colleague to complete. This idea proved to be misguided on my part, as the student proved untrustworthy and unable to fulfill the vision of the book. The project was soon back on my schedule of works to complete. ...
Flowers Stephen Edred - Blue Rûnaurn:md5:31781b7e38cd427141789fdf1a664d142014-12-24T23:48:00+00:002014-12-24T23:54:19+00:00balderFlowers Stephen EdredFranc-maçonnerieFranceHébraïsmeRunes
